Unova Tour Pass Announced for Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO has revealed a new Tour Pass, available to all players starting February 24. This pass is part of the annual Pokemon GO Tour, this year highlighting the Unova region with Generation 5-themed wild encounters, raid battles, and egg hatches.

The Pokemon GO Tour is a yearly event held around Pokemon Day, each time spotlighting a different region. The inaugural edition in 2021 celebrated the Kanto region, introducing nine previously unavailable shiny Pokemon, including Mew and Ditto. Last year's event focused on Sinnoh, featuring special Pikachu variants with unique accessories and the debut of Dialga's and Palkia's Origin Formes.

Ahead of Pokemon GO Tour 2025, Niantic has announced this new Tour Pass, which will run from February 24 at 10:00 AM to March 2 at 6:00 PM local time. Every player receives a free pass. To level it up, trainers must earn Tour Points by completing daily tasks, catching Pokemon, winning raids, and hatching eggs. Progressing through the pass unlocks Minor and Major milestones, granting items such as candy and stickers. Reaching the final milestone rewards an encounter with a Zorua featuring a special backdrop. All rewards must be claimed before they expire on March 9 at 6:00 PM.

Pokemon GO Unveils New Pass for Upcoming Unova GO Tour

Alongside the free standard pass, a Deluxe Tour Pass will be available for $14.99 in the Pokemon GO Webstore from February 24 at 10:00 AM until March 2 at 6:00 PM local time. This premium pass grants all rewards from both the free and premium tracks, an encounter with the Mythical Pokemon Victini, and a new Lucky Trinket. This single-use item instantly turns one friend on your list into a Lucky Friend, guaranteeing your next trade results in a Lucky Pokemon, before resetting the status. A version of the Deluxe Pass with 10 ranks pre-unlocked will also be sold for $19.99. Similar to the free pass, all Deluxe Pass rewards and the Lucky Trinket must be claimed by March 9 at 6:00 PM.

The introduction of the Unova Tour Pass aims to heighten player excitement for the event. The celebration promises significant highlights, including the debut of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem through fusion—a mechanic similar to last year's Necrozma. Another major attraction will be the first appearance of shiny Meloetta, obtainable via ticketed Masterwork Research.
