Pokemon GO Bug Out Event: Dates, Featured Pokemon, and All Bonuses

March events are in full swing in *Pokemon GO*, and we're excited to celebrate the changing seasons with a special focus on bug-type Pokemon. The Bug Out event promises an abundance of opportunities to catch these fascinating creatures, along with exciting bonuses and new avatar items.

Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* starts on March 26 at 10 AM local time and continues until 8 PM local time on March 30. This five-day event is the perfect time to collect all those bug-type Pokemon, and it's also an excellent opportunity for Shiny hunting, as nearly all featured Pokemon have a Shiny form in the game.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

According to the official page, you'll encounter the following bug-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild during the Bug Out event:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Nincada
  • Venipede
  • Dwebble
  • Joltik
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Nymble
  • Cutiefly (with Shiny potential)

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

During the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out event, you'll find a variety of raids at gyms. Here are the Pokemon you can expect to encounter, with those marked with an asterisk having a Shiny form:

One-Star Raids

  • Scyther*
  • Nincada*
  • Sizzlipede

Three-Star Raids

  • Beedrill*
  • Scizor*
  • Kleavor*

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Trainers will enjoy the following bonuses during the Bug Out event:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops during the event will grant you event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon.

Timed Research rewards include a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon. The Paid Timed Research offers a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Both types of research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event ends.

Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event features Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
