Following the special Community Day event on December 21st and 22nd, where all previous Community Day Pokémon make a comeback, the New Year's festivities kick off just a week later. The event also boosts the appearance rate of themed Pokémon, such as Jigglypuff adorned with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year’s outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat. Keep your eyes peeled for their Shiny versions, which could make an appearance if luck is on your side.

Raids during the event are getting a festive makeover too. One-star raids will feature Pikachu wearing a snowflake beanie, while three-star raids will challenge you with Raticate and Wobbuffet, both donning party hats. The event increases the Shiny rates for all three, adding an extra layer of excitement.

For those who enjoy quests, participating in Field Research and Timed Research tasks will unlock more encounters and rewards. Additionally, for $2, you can purchase a Paid Timed Research that includes exclusive rewards like three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
