How To Get Photograph Emote (Patch 7.18) in Final Fantasy XIV

One of the most delightful aspects of *Final Fantasy XIV*'s social scene is the incredible variety of emotes players can use to interact. This guide shows you how to obtain the charming Photograph emote.

Thanks to a collaboration with Fujifilm Instax, *Final Fantasy XIV*'s Patch 7.18 introduced a free, unique emote: "Photograph." This delightful addition lets you simulate taking photos anywhere in Eorzea.

Unlike many emotes locked behind quests or purchases (like the flamboyant "Pose of the Unbound"), the "Photograph" emote is instantly available in your Emote menu after downloading Patch 7.18. No level or expansion is required!

How to Use the Photograph Emote in FFXIV

To use it, open your Emote menu (under the "Social" tab), find "Photograph" (usually under "General"), and press it. Your character will strike a pose and snap a Fujifilm-style Polaroid. Add it to your Favorites for easy access.

While not continuous or suitable for AFK activities, the emote is versatile, working underwater (like in the Ruby Sea) and even while mounted (both grounded and flying). It's perfect for creating fun, *Inception*-esque moments.

Patch 7.18 precedes the larger Patch 7.2 (late March), bringing new dungeons, a return to the Arcadion, Cosmic Exploration, and much more.
