To enhance your experience in Path of Exile 2's endgame, the developers have cleverly integrated hidden encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, additional passive skill points, and weapon set skill points that can significantly boost your character's capabilities.

The Sisters of Garukhan is one such encounter, strategically placed in two locations during the campaign. Successfully completing this encounter rewards players with a permanent +10% Lightning Resistance buff. However, it's easy to miss, so let's guide you through the process of locating and activating it.

Where To Find Sisters of Garukhan

Sisters of Garukhan is a unique encounter located within the Spires of Deshar Map in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel of the campaign. Interacting with it grants a +10% Lightning Resistance boost. The icon for this encounter can be easily overlooked on the world map, which is why many players might miss it.

Due to the random generation of maps in PoE 2, there's no guaranteed path to find the Sisters of Garukhan in the Spires of Dushar. However, it's always present on this map; you just need to explore thoroughly. You'll eventually come across a shrine similar to the one shown above. Approach and interact with it to receive the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Be ready for a fight, as activating the shrine will awaken the chakram-wielding metal automatons, previously standing as statues, to attack you. This action also triggers all automatons on the map to come to life and pursue you.

If you reach the checkpoint near the exit before interacting with the Sisters of Garukhan, you can fast-travel back to the shrine's checkpoint, saving you from navigating through the entire map filled with ambushers again.

How to Get +10% Lightning Resistance From Sisters of Garukhan

Upon interacting with the Sister of Garukhan statues, the +10% Lightning Resistance buff is instantly awarded. This buff is not tied to any dropped items or contingent on defeating the metal automatons that ambush you post-activation; it activates the moment you touch the shrine.

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter is repeated in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel during PoE 2's early access. Ensure you activate the shrine in both instances to stack the buff, resulting in a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Why is +10% Lightning Resistance Not Activating

It's common for players to be puzzled when, despite activating the Sisters of Garukhan and seeing the +10% Lightning Resistance notification in the chat, their resistance stats remain negative.

This confusion arises because, after completing each Act in PoE 2, your character automatically receives a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances (except Chaos Resistance). So, upon first completing the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2, you'll end up with a net zero Lightning Resistance, as the buff cancels out the debuff from completing Act 1. In Act 2 Cruel, your Lightning Resistance will be at -40%, which will improve to -30% after the second Sisters of Garukhan activation.

To verify if the elemental resistance buffs from the campaign are active, remove all your gear and check your resistances in the endgame. If you see -40% across all resistances, you've successfully obtained all the available buffs.
