Palworld Dating Sim: Real Game, Not an April Fools' Joke

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their massively popular monster-catching game, Palworld. They've announced a new addition to their universe: Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that promises to blend romance with the familiar elements of their world. This announcement, made on March 31, comes with a reassurance that it's not an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing sparking skepticism among fans due to the flood of fake announcements that typically accompany the start of April.

Pocketpair is keen to dispel any doubts, affirming that Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project. The concept originated from an April Fools' Day stunt in 2024, where More Than Just Pals was introduced as a humorous, non-existent game. Now, it's set to become a reality, with a release planned for PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-specified date.

This dating sim takes players into the heart of Palagos Private Academy, where they enroll as a transfer student. The game offers a chance to befriend and potentially fall in love with a variety of student Pals, each with distinct personalities drawn from Palworld's existing roster of creatures. Characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet are highlighted on the project's official Steam page. Pocketpair's description of the game teases a unique school life experience, where players can choose to nurture friendships, pursue romance, or even take a darker path with their Pals.

To affirm the game's legitimacy, Bucky from Palworld tweeted, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)," further solidifying the announcement's credibility.

As Palworld itself celebrated its one-year anniversary in January, the game continues to evolve with new updates, including recent additions like crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode. These updates should keep fans engaged as they await the arrival of Palworld! More Than Just Pals. Additionally, while hopes for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld remain, there's also anticipation that the dating sim might eventually make its way to the console, offering even more ways for players to immerse themselves in Pocketpair's captivating universe.
