Nintendo Direct Sets Time for Switch 2 Reveal
The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct has been scheduled for 6am PT on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, which translates to 9am ET and 2pm UK time. Nintendo has promised to provide a "closer look" at the Switch 2 during this event, following its brief introduction of the console last month.
During the initial reveal, we caught a glimpse of the Switch 2's design, a hint at what might be Mario Kart 9, and a tease of a potential 'mouse' mode for the new Joy-Con. However, many details remain undisclosed, such as the function of a mysterious new button on the Joy-Con, the console's power capabilities, and the purpose of its new ports.

The Nintendo Direct is anticipated to unveil the complete launch lineup for the Switch 2, along with a release date expected sometime between June and September 2025. There's also hope that Nintendo will reveal the Switch 2's price, which analysts estimate will be around $400.
We're beginning to form an idea of what to expect from the Switch 2 in terms of its game library. A variety of rumored third-party titles are expected to grace the console. In an interview with IGN, the developer of Civilization 7, Firaxis, expressed intrigue about the Switch 2’s apparent Joy-Con mouse mode. French company Nacon, known for publishing games like Greedfall 2, Test Drive Unlimited, and RoboCop: Rogue City, has confirmed they have games ready for the Switch 2. There are also rumors that the much-anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on the Switch 2. Additionally, EA has recently stated that titles like Madden, FC, and The Sims would be well-suited for the Switch 2.
