The streaming giant has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner franchise and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was previously involved in adapting Sifu's story, may still have a role, his current involvement in the project remains uncertain.

Enhancing the project's appeal, Chad Stahelski, the acclaimed director of the John Wick series, along with his production company 87Eleven Entertainment, has joined as executive producers. Stahelski is also currently engaged in another major video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.

Sifu, launched in 2022, swiftly gained popularity, selling over one million copies in just three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist's quest for vengeance following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them upon death but ages them several years, the protagonist navigates a perilous world filled with danger and intrigue.
