Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage's Fate Sealed by Bandai Namco
Bandai Namco has announced the closure of its fortress strategy action RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage. This isn't unexpected for many players, following a similar fate for other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing.
The game, launched in 2017, will officially shut down on December 9th, 2024. Until then, players can enjoy several upcoming events, including the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). Players can continue collecting cards, summoning, and using in-game items until the service ends. Any remaining Gold Coins should be spent before the shutdown.
The game's decline appears to stem from a shift in game mechanics. While initially lauded for its balanced village-building and defense aspects, the introduction of powerful characters like Minato triggered a power creep, alienating many players. This, coupled with increasingly blatant pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features, ultimately led to the game's demise. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in a final playthrough.
