Microsoft Sets Xbox Games Showcase 2025 for June, Featuring Outer Worlds 2 Direct
Microsoft has officially announced its plans for June 2025, confirming the highly anticipated Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct.
As in previous years, Microsoft is set to host its traditional June showcase to unveil upcoming Xbox titles. The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 will be livestreamed globally on Sunday, June 8, beginning at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK time.
The event promises an exclusive look at a wide array of upcoming games from Microsoft’s first-party studios, as well as exciting new releases from global third-party partners. According to Microsoft, fans can expect deep dives into titles currently in development across the Xbox ecosystem.

Speculation is already building around what Microsoft will reveal during this year's showcase. A number of major titles are currently in the pipeline, including:
- Fable (recently delayed to 2026)
- Perfect Dark reboot
- inXile’s Clockwork Revolution
- Ninja Gaiden 4
- Contraband (from the creators of the Just Cause series)
- Rare’s Everwild (which Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently previewed)
- The Coalition’s Gears of War: E-Day

On the Activision Blizzard front, fans can expect updates on the latest Call of Duty release slated for later this year, along with other titles from Blizzard Entertainment. Additionally, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, set to launch in July 2025, could make an appearance.
As for Bethesda, there’s growing anticipation about the future of Starfield. With no PlayStation 5 release date confirmed yet, could we finally get more information? And perhaps even a glimpse into The Elder Scrolls VI?
There’s also potential for hardware reveals. While Microsoft’s rumored next-gen Xbox console and Xbox handheld are expected around 2027, the company may tease partnerships with third-party manufacturers working on Xbox-branded handheld devices.
Following the success of the Starfield Direct in 2023 and the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct in 2024, Microsoft will continue the format with The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, airing immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment—fresh off the release of Avowed—this dedicated stream promises behind-the-scenes access, new gameplay footage, and in-depth developer commentary. The direct aims to give fans a closer look at the sequel to the acclaimed first-person sci-fi RPG, with expectations high for a confirmed 2025 release date reveal.
