The last major Baldur's Gate III patch entered the stress test stage

The stress test for Baldur's Gate III's eighth, and possibly final, major patch is underway. While some Sony console players received early access, players who haven't participated in the stress test are advised to reinstall the game for the best experience.

Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-play functionality, uniting PC and console players. Players with linked Larian accounts can now invite friends across platforms. Even modded games can participate in cross-play, provided all mods used by the PC player are also available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby doesn't exceed ten mods.

Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.

Beyond multiplayer enhancements, Patch 8 boasts a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to gameplay. Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments have also been implemented, though some issues may persist. A complete changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official page.
