New Magic: The Gathering Cards Revealed for Final Fantasy Set

For Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts, the wait for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy set feels endless, but Wizards of the Coast has just sweetened the anticipation by unveiling over a dozen never-before-seen cards from the set. Fans are treated to first looks at iconic characters like Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and more. This sneak peek not only includes new cards but also showcases a variety of art variations, complementing the previously revealed commander cards such as Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra.

Today's reveal also sheds light on some unique features of the set, such as the introduction of Summons, marking Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can summon for aid in battle, exemplified by the Summon: Shiva card in the gallery. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, highlighted by Cecil's dual sides as Dark Knight and Redeemed Paladin.

The Final Fantasy set boasts over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards, many illustrated by beloved artists from the Final Fantasy series. This set is not only fully draftable but also Standard-legal, set to release on June 13. It will be accompanied by four preconstructed Commander decks, each themed around a different Final Fantasy game: 6, 7, 10, and 14. Each deck contains 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing ones featuring new Final Fantasy art, offering fans a rich and immersive experience.
