The popular MMO, Second Life, launches its public beta for iOS and Android. Premium subscribers can access it now; free access is yet to be announced.
Second Life, the social MMO recently announced for mobile, is now available in a public beta on iOS and Android. Download it from the App Store and Google Play.
However, access requires a Premium account. While not a free trial for newcomers, this beta should accelerate the release of information about the mobile version.
For those unfamiliar, Second Life is an early metaverse precursor. Unlike many MMOs, it prioritizes social interaction over combat or exploration. Players create avatars and live virtual lives, engaging in various activities. Launched in 2003, it pioneered social gaming and user-generated content.
