KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Version Shuts Down, Is It Getting an Offline Version?

It’s the third consecutive day I’ve reported on a game’s end-of-service. This time, it’s KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, which officially shut down today, January 30th. The servers are now offline.

How Long Did KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Last?

Developed by Sumzap and initially published by Nexon before transitioning to Sesisoft, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global enjoyed a respectable run. While the global servers lasted 3.5 years, the Japanese version enjoyed a solid 5-year lifespan. This is a commendable achievement for an anime-based gacha game, especially considering revenue had been declining for some time.

The developers clearly shifted their focus to the JJK gacha game (Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade). However, they maintained support for KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global until the very end, including voiced story updates and a final song release just three weeks prior to shutdown.

A farewell livestream in December featured Kazuma’s voice actor, adding a poignant touch to the closure. The Japanese version even went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing players to revisit the antics of Kazuma and his crew whenever they desire. An offline version provides continued access to the game's story, voice lines, and character collection.

Sadly, no offline version or dedicated YouTube archive is available for the Global version. However, fans can still access the Japanese YouTube channel to continue enjoying the adventures of Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the cast.

This concludes our coverage of the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global shutdown. Stay tuned for our next update on Karrablast and Shelmet in Pokémon Go’s February Community Day.
