How to Start Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To initiate the Battle of the Frogs and Mice side quest, you first need to complete either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek and Olbram. Once you've seen one of these quests through to the end, the Battle of the Frogs and Mice will become available. Simply speak to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov to kickstart this quest. After initiating the quest, head to the designated pasture to begin the next steps.

Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?

During the quest, Henry faces the decision of siding with either Prochek or Olbram. If you choose to support Prochek, speak to him in Tachov and express your readiness to confront the Zhelejovites. Conversely, to side with Olbram, meet him in Zhelejov and agree to face the Tachovites. It's crucial not to attempt to reconcile them during their initial talks at the pasture, as this could prematurely trigger the fight. However, successfully passing a dialogue check during these negotiations can cause an opponent to flee, making the ensuing battle less challenging. Victories on either side will earn you some groschen.

How to Stop the Feud

For a more amicable resolution, you can end the feud between Prochek and Olbram. Before heading to the pasture, ask either Prochek or Olbram if they're interested in ending the feud. Then, make your way to Troskowitz and speak with Baliff Thrush. Choose the dialogue option, "You’d finally have some peace." Successfully passing this dialogue check will grant you access to the scribe’s room, where you can read the Troskowitz Chronicle. If persuasion fails, you can sneak in to read it, but remember to save your game beforehand.

When speaking with the scribe, select the dialogue option, "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei." Next, go to the pasture and locate three oak trees in a row. Examine the middle tree to find a nail. Your choices with the nail are:

• Leaving it in the middle tree will split the pasture equally between Tachov and Zhelejov.
• Putting the nail in the west tree will allocate more land to Tachov.
• Putting the nail in the east tree will allocate more land to Zhelejov.

The choice of where to place the nail is ultimately up to you and doesn't significantly impact the outcome, so feel free to choose based on your preference or remain neutral. After making your decision, speak with Baliff Thrush again, who will agree to end the feud. Then, bring Prochek or Olbram to the pasture to finalize the resolution.
