Jakesh's Fate in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Bad Blood Quest Decision
In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Bad Blood" provides an opportunity to delve deeper into the lives of the characters. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to start and complete this engaging quest.
How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To initiate the "Bad Blood" quest, you'll need to progress through the storyline until you're tasked with finding Mutt. As you explore near Bozhena's hut, Henry will suggest checking if Bozhena has seen anything. Approach her and inquire about Mutt, and she'll reveal that her daughter Pavlena is missing. Agree to help, and the "Bad Blood" quest will be added to your journal.
Gather Information
Begin by visiting Troskowitz and speaking with Bailiff Thrush, followed by a conversation with Innkeeper Betty at the tavern. These interactions will shed light on Bozhena and Pavlena's situation and why they were ostracized from the village. Next, head to the designated area to talk to the woodcutters. Find Woodcutter Dushko, who will direct you to Roman's house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick the door to Roman's house.
Inside, examine Pavlena's basket and then speak with Dushko again for further clues. He'll point you towards a clearing near Roman's house, a favorite spot for the couple.
Search the Scene
From Roman's house, follow the objective marker downhill towards a stream. Turn left at the two large boulders to discover a trail of blood. Follow it to Roman's body, then continue upward to speak with Hogherd Hugo. Return to the farm in Troskowitz and talk to Hired Hand Straw, passing a dialogue check to uncover more about Jakesh and the true events involving Roman and Pavlena.
Afterward, discuss with Thrush what to do about Straw. Then, proceed to the rocks just south of Zhelejov to further your investigation.
Confront Ota
In the designated area, navigate around the large boulder to find a path. Climb the ladder to confront Ota and Pavlena. To persuade Ota to release Pavlena, you'll need high Charisma and choose these dialogue options:
- "What's your name?"
- "Let her go and I'll let you go."
- "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."
Once Ota releases Pavlena, she will kill him. Speak with Pavlena and escort her back to Bozhena, who will then ask you to deal with Jakesh.
Kill Jakesh or Make Peace
For the final part of the quest, you can either kill Jakesh or attempt to broker peace between him and Bozhena. Find Jakesh at his child's grave. You have the choice to kill him, negotiate peace, or even kill Bozhena to conclude the quest.
In my playthrough, I chose to kill Jakesh and informed Bozhena, receiving a reward.
Should You Kill Jakesh?
Killing Jakesh will lower your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly boost it with Bozhena and Pavlena. You'll also gain a new dialogue option with Pavlena and receive a necklace she got from Roman as a reward.
Conversely, if you spare Jakesh and facilitate peace, he'll offer you 100 groschen. You can choose to keep this money or share it with Bozhena when reporting back. This choice will allow Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement.
