Disneyland Paris has unveiled exciting new images, details, and a construction timeline for its upcoming Lion King attraction, with work set to begin in Fall 2025.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the first-ever land and ride dedicated to The Lion King will be a centerpiece of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. Alongside this new water-based adventure that recreates iconic moments from the 1994 animated classic, the area will feature a towering 120-foot-tall Pride Rock, alongside numerous dining, shopping, and character greeting opportunities.

Disney has released a new concept image from the attraction, pictured above, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa feasting on grubs in a lush jungle environment. This scene will be one part of an experience that culminates in a 52-foot drop, slightly taller than the one in Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Although an exact opening date is not yet confirmed, the attraction is scheduled to debut after the premiere of World of Frozen in 2026. It is one key component of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will ultimately double the current park's size.

Joining World of Frozen, The Lion King ride, and the previously announced Tangled-themed spinner ride featuring Mandy Moore's return as Rapunzel, will be the first-ever attraction based on Up. This "spinning carousel" ride promises to give guests a soaring, bird's-eye view of the park's scenic landscapes.

Another highlight of Disney Adventure World, opening May 15, 2025, will be the World Premiere entrance. This new gateway is designed to evoke the excitement of a glamorous Hollywood movie premiere. The adjacent World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and London’s West End, will host theaters featuring shows like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
