Hearthstone has unveiled the highly anticipated Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st. The cards are categorized into class cards, multi-class StarCraft faction cards (representing the Zerg, Protoss, and Terran factions), and a single neutral Legendary card. This marks a thrilling crossover between Hearthstone and Blizzard's beloved science fiction RTS franchise, StarCraft.

Initially teased during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, only basic details were revealed. Now, two months later, the full scope of the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set is clear. The 49 cards include three for each Hearthstone class, five faction-specific cards per StarCraft race (one of which is a Legendary), and a single neutral Legendary card, Grunty. Hearthstone will showcase these cards throughout the week leading up to the Mini-Set's release.

The revealed cards offer exciting gameplay mechanics. Zerg cards (for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock) focus on summoning large numbers of Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for swarm-based damage. Protoss cards (for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue) introduce temporary and permanent mana manipulation, setting the stage for powerful plays with expensive cards like the Carrier. Finally, Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior classes gain access to enhanced Starship mechanics from Hearthstone's The Great Dark Beyond expansion, featuring new Starship Pieces, streamlined multi-Starship deployment, and a unique Mech-type Starship.

The expanded size of the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set does impact the price. While obtainable through The Great Dark Beyond packs, a complete set costs $20 or 2500 gold (a slight increase from previous Mini-Sets), or $80 or 12,000 gold for the all-Golden version.
