Also Announces Gyarados-Themed Playground
Pokémon Center Hiroshima, a beloved destination for Pokémon fans, will be closing its current location at the end of March 2025. The store, which originally opened in June 2015 on the 6th floor of Sogo Hiroshima's Main Building, is situated next to the RIHGA Royal Hotel and in front of the Hiroshima Prefectural Office. It will relocate to the second floor of Ekie, the north exit of Hiroshima Station, and is expected to reopen around April 2025.
Simultaneously, the "Gyarados Plaza by Pokémon Center Hiroshima" is set to open at Soramoa Plaza's rooftop on the new Hiroshima Station building called Minamoa. Described by the Pokémon website as "a plaza where people of all ages can spend time with Pokémon in their own way," it will feature large play equipment modeled after Gyarados, the symbolic Pokémon of Pokémon Center Hiroshima. The Gyarados Plaza will open on March 24, 2025. For a temporary period following its launch, visitors will need to make advance reservations to use the playground equipment. More details will be available on the official Minamoa website.
If you're planning a visit to Hiroshima, note that the store operates from Monday to Sunday, between 10:00 am and 7:30 pm.
