Early in the game, players can obtain the Flare Knife—a versatile combat item—from Zakka in The Warren. To access this item, ensure you have reached Level 003 Code Clearance. Once eligible, head to Zakka’s shop, where the Flare Knife is available for purchase at 3,000 Entitlement Points.

After acquiring the Flare Knife, go to the Loadout menu within the Personal Responsibility Portal. Under the Combat Items section, allocate the Flare Knife to an available slot. From there, you can equip it for future missions and use it strategically during battles.

How To Use Flare Knife In Freedom Wars Remastered

The Flare Knife serves as a reusable tool designed to sever critical parts of Abductors. This makes it particularly useful for players who favor Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons but still wish to disable their opponents effectively. Keep in mind that each Flare Knife is a one-time-use item, meaning you’ll need to acquire more before the next Operation.

To use the Flare Knife, lock onto an Abductor limb marked for severance and deploy your Thorn to pull yourself closer. When the Flare Knife is equipped, a prompt will appear allowing you to initiate the severance process. A quick time event (QTE) will begin, requiring you to press a designated button rapidly to deplete the progress bar. Success results in the limb being severed, weakening the enemy.

Be mindful of the Abductor’s unpredictable movements, as they may attempt to shake you off by jumping or colliding with nearby structures. For smoother operations, coordinate with teammates to keep the Abductor pinned down while attempting to sever its limbs.
