Formovie Episode One Review: Projector Excellence

Author : Mila Oct 10,2025

We test numerous devices at Droid Gamers, but encountering a projector was a first. The Formovie Episode One projector caught our attention as an intriguing way to experience mobile games on a larger display.

Positioned as an affordable option in the typically expensive projector market, the Episode One delivers on its promise with some caveats. The package includes the projector itself, a remote (batteries not included), power cable, and instruction manual.

While it lacks the premium heft of higher-end models, its three-pound weight makes it genuinely portable - easily transportable for on-the-go use.

The connectivity options are relatively basic with just one USB-A port, one HDMI input, and a single audio jack. However, these meet essential needs and align with the projector's budget-friendly nature.

Performance & Features

With 150 ISO lumens brightness, the Episode One delivers respectable performance for its price category. Our testing revealed expected limitations in bright environments, though it performed solidly in darker conditions.

The device handled movies, TV shows, and game streaming satisfactorily. Optimal image quality required positioning the projector about 10 feet from the display surface.

Sound & User Experience

Audio performance is serviceable, though the built-in speaker lacks depth. We'd recommend pairing it with external speakers for better sound quality. The interface stands out as particularly user-friendly, making setup and operation simpler than many premium alternatives.

Verdict

The Formovie Episode One serves as an excellent introductory projector - offering solid functionality without excelling in any particular area. It capably meets the needs of casual users looking for an affordable big-screen experience.
