Feral Interactive Drops the Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

Exciting news for fans of the classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War* on Android! Feral Interactive has just released the massive Imperium Update, bringing a host of gameplay tweaks, control improvements, and quality-of-life features to enhance your gaming experience. If you've been playing this timeless title since its Android debut in 2018, you're in for a treat with the latest enhancements. And don't worry if you enjoy the standalone expansions—*Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* will receive the same update next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update incorporates some of the best features from Feral's more recent mobile releases, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. It introduces three new control options to *ROME: Total War*: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These new modes offer you greater control over your units, making battles more precise and engaging. Now, you can simply tap and hold to move your army, agents, or fleets, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.

With the new Positioning Mode, you can fine-tune unit placements with ease by tapping and holding. The Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups with a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode allows your ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it, adding a strategic layer to your gameplay.

One of the standout changes is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game when you're issuing complex orders, ensuring you can execute your strategies with precision. For the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been added for Android (and iPad) users, enhancing the control options available.

The minimap in *ROME: Total War* has been redesigned to mimic the intuitive feel of the one in *MEDIEVAL II*, complete with smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly return to the default view, streamlining your gameplay experience.

The Imperium Update is now live, so if you own *ROME: Total War* on Android, head over to the Google Play Store to install it. Keep an eye out for the updates coming next week to *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander*, and enjoy the enhanced gameplay across all your favorite expansions.
