"FCC Filing Hints at Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Upgrade"
With less than 24 hours until the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, excitement is building as Nintendo prepares to unveil its plans for the next generation of its popular console. A recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing has sparked speculation about the potential features of the Switch 2's controller lineup.
On March 31, an FCC filing under the product code "BEE-008" surfaced, believed by some to be a registration for a new game controller, possibly the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. While Nintendo has not officially confirmed the existence of a Switch 2 Pro Controller, the filing's mention of Bluetooth and NFC capabilities hints at advanced features typically found in Pro Controllers.
One notable aspect of this filing is the potential inclusion of a headphone jack in the Switch 2 Pro Controller. Unlike the original Switch Pro Controller, which lacked this feature, the addition of a headphone jack would align the Switch 2 with competitors like the DualSense and Xbox Series controllers, enhancing user convenience and quality of life.
While these details are based on speculation and past Nintendo filings that have hinted at future plans, we will have to wait for the official announcement to confirm these features. The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is set to air tomorrow at 6am PT / 9am ET on Nintendo's channels, promising a "closer look" at the Switch 2 following its initial reveal earlier this year. The event is expected to provide substantial information, potentially including a release date.
The Switch 2 Direct will run for an hour, and Nintendo has also scheduled two Nintendo Treehouse: Live | Nintendo Switch 2 presentations with hands-on gameplay for April 3 and April 4, starting at 7am PT each day. These presentations will offer fans an even deeper dive into what the Switch 2 has to offer.
