Mandalorian-Themed Falcon Update Brings Grogu Care - Star Wars

Star Wars Celebration unveiled exciting new details about The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed expansion coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, coinciding with the new film release. Highlights include Engineers gaining special Grogu caretaking duties and the addition of Coruscant as a visitable planet alongside Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor in this interactive choose-your-own-adventure experience.

Scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, this Smuggler's Run update will forge its own narrative path separate from The Mandalorian & Grogu film while still featuring Din Djarin and Grogu in fresh ways. The storyline follows Hondo Ohnaka discovering a shady deal between ex-Imperial officers and pirates on Tatooine, sparking a galaxy-hopping chase where guests collaborate with Mando and Grogu to pursue targets and collect bounties.

While full details remain under wraps, confirming the Engineer's expanded role in caring for Grogu during missions promises an especially engaging experience.

We spoke with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama for exclusive insights into what awaits players:

"Throughout the mission, engineers will have special interactions with Grogu," Kalama revealed. "When Mando exits the Razor Crest, Grogu might playfully interfere with controls, creating fun vignettes where you'll communicate with him via comms."

Regarding the branching narrative structure, Kalama explained: "A critical moment forces lightning-fast decisions about which bounty to pursue, determining your adventure's path and destination planets."
