Dungeonborne Set to Close Down, Official Statement
The developers of the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have recently announced the cessation of support for their game and the impending closure of its servers. Launched with high hopes, Dungeonborne unfortunately fell short of sustaining its player base, primarily due to dwindling player engagement and the absence of meaningful updates throughout its less-than-year-long run.
While Dungeonborne's page remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can now only be accessed via a direct link. The official reasons behind the decision to shut down the game have not been made public, but the stark decline in player numbers speaks volumes. Since the latter part of 2024, the game struggled to maintain more than 200 concurrent players, with recent figures plummeting to a mere 10-15 active users daily.
The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled to go offline permanently on May 28, signaling the definitive end of the project. What began as a promising venture for fans of the genre will now become a memory, unable to fulfill its initial promise and potential.
