How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily tasks. This guide covers finding, crafting, and using Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found in chests within the mines. While initially discovered while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, chests containing these stones can appear on any level across all biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies disguised as chests—interaction will result in damage.

You can find Essence Stones in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger deposits exist with some exploration. If searching proves difficult, crafting them at the Stone Refinery is an alternative.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria* allows Essence Stone crafting. This location is part of a new questline added in the March 2025 update, requiring you to build the refinery within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

Building the Stone Refinery requires:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The required quantities vary depending on the size:

**Tiny Essence Stone**	x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**	x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**	x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced auto-petting and sprinkler mechanics, both requiring Essence Stones. Larger stones provide longer charge durations, with Large Essence Stones offering the longest use.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue (placed in Large Barns and Coops), automatically pets animals daily while an Essence Stone is active. This rare statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol’s house (requires Dragon’s Breath). Crafting additional statues is possible once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic uses the Water Sprite Statue, automatically watering crops within a 2-tile radius while an Essence Stone is active. This statue and its crafting scroll are located on an island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse (requires Dragon’s Breath to access). Additional statues can be crafted.

Future Fields of Mistria updates from NPC Studio will likely expand Essence Stone usage.
