Charlie Cox Disliked Daredevil Episode, Resisted Script
The journey bringing "Daredevil: Born Again" from script to screen involved numerous revisions, yet surprisingly, Episode 5 emerged untouched—ironically becoming star Charlie Cox’s least favorite of the season.
"This might surprise you, but out of everything we reshaped, one episode remained exactly as filmed," Cox shared during his interview with The Playlist.
"It’s the bank heist episode—shot pre-strike, unchanged from the original draft. Honestly? It wasn’t my cup of tea."
Cox admitted resisting creative choices: "I voiced my reservations as strongly as possible." The episode traps his character Matt Murdock—a.k.a. Daredevil—in a chaotic bank robbery while securing a loan for Nelson & Murdock’s struggling firm.
"The concept felt dated," Cox remarked. "Today’s tech makes that premise unrealistic. Even the robbery’s execution lacked sophistication."

Despite his critique, Cox acknowledged the episode’s popularity: "Ironically, fans loved what I disliked—proof that storytelling is deeply subjective."
"Internally, it broke ratings records," he added. "One of Disney+’s top-performing Marvel shows ever."
The praise was justified—our review hailed Episode 5 as "a masterclass in character-driven tension, reminding us why Matt Murdock shines even without his mask. Few MCU shows deliver such consistent charm and immersion."
