Gamer Waits Outside San Francisco Nintendo Store for Switch 2
The Nintendo Store in San Francisco doesn't open for another month, but there's already someone camped out for the Nintendo Switch 2.
In a video published on April 8, YouTuber Super Cafe documented his journey to San Francisco. He intends to camp out for both the Switch 2's release and the store's grand opening, scheduled for May 15.
Having flown over 800 miles, the creator plans to wait for nearly two months to secure the first spot in line on the West Coast.
"I've only lived in my apartment for two months. I just moved in," Super Cafe admitted. "This is a terrible financial choice, but so be it."
Now the San Francisco location has its own dedicated camper, mirroring the scene at the New York store. While Super Cafe primarily plans to wait alone, he invited others considering the same to connect with him.
For practical details like accommodations, food, and hygiene, Super Cafe noted he will address those questions in an upcoming Q&A video.

Camping out for major Nintendo launches, especially consoles, is a long-standing tradition. With campers now stationed at both US Nintendo stores, it remains to be seen if a larger line will form, but their dedication is clear.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, 2025. For those not keen on camping out, our pre-order guides can help, though current tariff uncertainties are complicating matters for US customers.
