Blood Type: The EC Comics Line Expands With Grisly New Vampire Series

Oni Press continues to revitalize the legendary EC Comics brand with the upcoming debut of *Blood Type*, a vampire-centric series set to launch this summer. This thrilling new addition spins directly out of the anthology *Epitaphs From the Abyss* and promises to captivate fans with its dark and intriguing narrative.

*Blood Type* is the inaugural title in a series of planned EC Comics spinoffs slated for Summer 2025. The creative team behind this chilling series includes writer Corinna Bechko, known for her work on *Cruel Universe* and *Green Lantern: Earth One*, and artist Andrea Sorrentino, acclaimed for his contributions to *Gideon Falls* and *Old Man Logan*. The vibrant colors are brought to life by Dave Stewart, renowned for his work on *Hellboy*. The debut issue features multiple covers by Sorrentino, Miguel Mercado, Albert Monteys, and Naomi Franq, adding to the anticipation.

“Horror has just always been where I've felt most at home, something Andrea and I have in common,” Corinna Bechko shared in Oni's press release. “With *Blood Type* we've cooked up a wicked tale that expands on a character I fell in love with as soon as I put her on the page. Does she love me back? Not a chance, and that's her charm. She's a vampire, but that doesn't mean she sparkles or is ready for romance. She is, however, ready to take over a tropical paradise.”

Andrea Sorrentino expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I think horror is just my thing. I've worked on many different things like superheroes and sci-fi in my career, but when it's up to horror, this is where I feel at home. The opportunity to connect with the deepest fears of the reader through some imagery is a great and satisfying challenge.
