The cult-classic mobile game, 868-Hack, which let players experience the thrill of hacking into cyberpunk mainframes in a roguelike digital dungeon crawler, is set to make a comeback. A new crowdfunding campaign has been launched for its sequel, aptly named 868-Back, bringing the excitement of cyber warfare back to the forefront.

Cyber warfare often sounds more thrilling in theory than in practice. While movies might have us believe everyone hacks like Angelina Jolie in "Hackers," the reality is far less glamorous. However, for those yearning to live out that fantasy, 868-Hack provided a unique opportunity. Now, with 868-Back, fans have the chance to dive even deeper into this world.

Both 868-Hack and its sequel excel at making players feel like true hackers. Much like the cult-classic PC game Uplink, the gameplay simplifies the complexity of hacking and information warfare, making it both accessible and challenging. When 868-Hack was first released, it was lauded for its successful execution of this concept.

In 868-Back, players can continue to string together Progs to create intricate sequences of actions, mimicking real-life programming. This time, however, the game promises an expanded world, with revamped Progs, new rewards, enhanced graphics, and updated soundscapes.

Hack the planetWith its gritty art style and cyberpunk aesthetic, 868-Hack has always had a unique appeal. Supporting this crowdfunding campaign is a no-brainer for fans, though we must acknowledge the inherent risks involved in such ventures. While we can't guarantee a smooth journey, we're rooting for developer Michael Brough and eagerly await the return of 868-Hack with 868-Back!
