Aurora Notifier is a mobile application leveraging Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver timely notifications about potential Northern Lights sightings. Users can customize alerts based on local aurora probability, Kp-index (Hp30), solar wind parameters (Bz/Bt), and evening Kp-level forecasts. The app also features a unique community aspect: users receive alerts when nearby app users report witnessing the aurora. This crowdsourced data relies on users uploading their own aurora sightings, contributing to a more comprehensive notification system. A premium version, available as an in-app purchase, unlocks enhanced technical details, including graphs of Kp-index predictions, cloud cover, solar wind parameters, and additional features.
